It makes sense to carry forward those three broad major ALA goals, year after year, until we are all sick of them. That will be the point at which people outside ALA (the President's most important constituents) might begin to notice that we are saying something. In recent years, the ALA work with the greatest public attention and impact has been at the intersection of advocacy and information policy. Molly Raphael and Maureen Sullivan hammered away on the publisher/distributor/library e-books mess and actually made some progress.
